Traveling to Kathmandu / Reis naar Kathmandu

Image
I left the house at 4 a.m. in the morning, when the jeep arrived to pick me up. Around 5:30 a.m. it started to become light outside. I remembered my plan to film some of my journey when we arrived in the next district, Jhapa. Sadly, I did not have enough phone memory to film during the last hours of our trip. So the next time when I travel back to Ilam more of the hill areas (Sindhuli and Ilam) with amazing views. (And yes, I am staying in Kathmandu till the baby arrives, but I am definitely not just sitting and waiting as I have quite some work to do here and people to meet. Will write more about it soon.)

We have moved house!

<< Lees in het Nederlands >> "And if we know that he hears us—whatever we ask—we know that we have what we asked of him." - 1 John 5:15 High time for an update here on this blog! I know everyone is very curious about baby things and that makes sense if you know someone who lives in Nepal and is 34 weeks pregnant. But first, let me start from the beginning and recall what has happened here in the meantime and how God has provided what we have prayed for beyond expectations. Both me and you as a reader of my blog have concluded that daily blogging is too much for me. It was great to do, in a writing urge at the time, but I am and will not be a full-time or even part-time blogger or vlogger. There is too much other work to do. It is now about half a year after starting this blog. I hope to post more frequently now that we have connected WiFi here. But I promise nothing because it is almost impossible to plan. Final months in Kathmandu It is more than three m...

Maar i...

Update + Lassi recipe / recept

I've been so busy with anything and everything that I didn't have time to write. On the other hand, I was working so tedious that I had no inspiration to write. Sounds double. Thinking back, I don't know why I stopped writing and making videos. And yet I actually know it ... I started very enthusiastic writing on this blog. But when in the third semester I devoted myself to my studies and a few months was much sick, weak, tired and nauseous for a good thing (if you meet me in real life you can now guess that I currently carry a second person with me), the inspiration for writing and making videos disappeared. I have also not shared anything on Facebook for a long time. I still have a lot of material for YouTube videos. I also have topics for blogs. Yet that does not create anything. Just like a guitar needs to be tuned first (David likes to play right away, that sounds pretty ugly haha), that's how I have to be in the right mood to voice things. Anyway, here I am ...

The Eternity Plan Complete / Het Hele Eternity Plan

Image
The grand reveal of the overall picture. Who got all the pieces in the right places? David just arrived back in Kathmandu yesterday. Now it is time for us to start raising funds for buying the beautiful house that God has shown us and the school that David has found to start with our projects. Plans for the house: hotel / restaurant / tourist information office / craft shop / bakery Plans for the school: teacher training / new teaching materials / modern education / 21st century learning / parenting workshops / practical education We are very excited to start the work! Later on, we will support our non-profit organizations through our profitable projects. For now, a total of 500,000 euros is needed to buy the house and the school and start up our projects. Please support us with prayer and finances. We will very soon share opportunities to support our work. David is net gis...

My real life behind the scenes / Mijn echte leven achter de schermen

Image
DAVID IS IN ILAM to inquire about the house and to look for land to build a school, or for a school that we can buy over. (We recently heard that some Christians who have a school in Ilam may want to sell.) Meanwhile, I try to keep up with my study assignments at home and also enjoy my freedom. I have just solved some problems on this blog. Recently I received feedback from a friend about links that did not work and comments that can not be posted. Good news: I have changed the setting, so EVERYONE CAN NOW POST COMMENTS. Which I really like to receive and answer. The links are working now, that was my fault because I had already published the blogs about Eternity Ministries in December and I later decided to post the blogs from the beginning of January. You learn from mistakes, the next time I create a custom link so that the date does not matter. Anyway, THE LINKS WORK NOW. There is so much work to do in the preparations for Ilam, fundraising to lay the foundation for our proj...
